The Brida

The book 'Brida' is another master piece of acclaimed author Paulo Coelho. I came across this author when one of my friends gave me the book 'The Alchemist'. I can say this book is the real master piece.

'Brida' has a story which revolves around a girl named 'Brida' at her early teens who wishes to learn magic. The writer has nicely explained about magic and incarnations and other stuff.

The story starts with the heroine who goes on a journey to learn magic. She comes across a person named Magus who is the perfect teacher as per the stories whatever Brida has heard. She gets him in the woods. Magus obliges to teach her at the first request itself because he sees his soulmate in her.

The learning of magic as per the author can be in 2 ways one being the solar one which is learning by observing the universe and the moon way which is learning by experience. Magus is teh teacher who follows the solar one.

He leaves brida in the dark forest all alone one night and brida successfully spends the night without fears and goes back to the town. The author explains it as 'The Dark Night' which is the first step towards any learning.

Then Brida finds another teacher named Wicca who is teacher of the moon way.

At the end she becomes a witch and finds her soulmates in Lorens her lover and the Magus.

The story revolves around these characters and is told in simple way. Nice one to read.

Nothing to root for as far as the writing capabilities are, makes the reader curious though
